In hair transplant we extract the hair roots from the donor area which is situated on the back side of the head and implant into the bald area.
[/cmsmasters_toggle][cmsmasters_toggle shortcode_id=”m6ejh1egm” title=”What is male pattern baldness?”]
Your hair has roots which are present in the skin roughly 2.5 mm deep. These are called Follicles. As shown in the diagram, the male hormone i.e. DHT(De-Hydro-testosterone) attaches on the hair roots & causes some chain of reactions which makes the hair fall off (as shown in the diagram)
For the male hormone to go and attach on the Hair Root, it requires a Receptor Site where it can go and attach.
These receptors are absent on the hair roots of the back-side of the head.
This area is called as the Donor Area or Permanent Zone or Bald Resistant Zone. The male hormone therefore, cannot attach on the hair roots of the donor area (as they do not have the receptor site for attachment of the male hormone). Therefore the hair in these areas won’t be affected by the male hormone and would stay permanently for the whole life. That is why this area is called as Permanent Zone. So we take the hair from this area and implant it into the bald area, so that later these implanted hair should not fall-off because of the effects of DHT This forms the logic of Hair Transplant.
[/cmsmasters_toggle][cmsmasters_toggle shortcode_id=”j1id521pv8″ title=”How many hair or follicular units will I require?”]
This depends on 3 factors i.e. • Present baldness. •Hairline desired :Hairline desired, or the area where hair implantation is desired is subjective factor.Which will depend upon your own wish. Density desired Density can be divided into •Fuller density which implants about 45 FU/sq.cm •Camouflage density which implants about 22 FU/sq.cm •In Fuller density you will get a full look of hair Compared to Camouflage density the baldness will be covered, but you won’t have fuller look.
[/cmsmasters_toggle][cmsmasters_toggle shortcode_id=”hfn5x3spy” title=” What are the different ways of doing a hair transplant?”]
Hair transplant is done in 2 basic ways i.e. Strip technique or FUT: Surgical technique involves harvesting a strip of skin from your Backside of head. The hair are then separated and implanted on the bald area. > This involves cutting your scalp skin, then stitching it. > This technique is therefore painful, gives a long linear scar. FUE or Follicular Unitary Trasnplant: Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) takes grafts from the back and sides of the patient’s head individually. Depending on how the patient prefers it, you can either shave the whole head or small “micro-strips” can be shaved for optimal camouflage – but some level of shaving has to be done because the hair has to be short for effective removal. But at Hair Science we have taken it a step further to provide unmatched and natural results by utilizing Robotic Hair Transplant.
[/cmsmasters_toggle][cmsmasters_toggle shortcode_id=”w40lgazhz” title=”What is Robotic Hair Transplant ?”]
The new technique utilized by Hair Science is known as ‘Robotic Hair Transplant’ which is a revolutionary technique medical science has been using robotic systems to achieve perfection, precision, higher efficiency to give outstanding results to patients. Robotic Hair Transplants are very successful in USA, Europe, Japan, Korea etc. 1) Fusion of robotics, digital imaging & surgeon is known as Robotic hair transplants. 2) Robotic system gives surgeon precision, accuracy & efficiency to transform hair transplant results far better than existing hair transplant techniques like FUT,FUE, Donor doubling etc. 3) Provides Excellent and consistent & safe results. 4) Better patient experience, comfort like never before. 5) Robotic Hair Transplant is a minimum invasive technique….which is in demand by all. 6) Robotic Hair Transplant provides faster healing and down time which helps an individual to return to its daily activities. 7) No scarring in donor area (back of scalp). 8) Robotic Hair Transplant gives most natural & permanent results as compared to any other hair transplant procedure.
[/cmsmasters_toggle][cmsmasters_toggle shortcode_id=”lw4rv2dlc” title=” What is “shock fall out”?”]
Shedding after a hair transplant is also referred to by the very ominous sounding term “shock fall out.” The correct medical term is “effluvium” which literally means shedding. It is usually the miniaturized hair (i.e. the hair that is at the end of its lifespan due to genetic balding) that is most likely to be shed. Less likely, some healthy hair will be shed, but this should re-grow. Interestingly, if transplants are spaced less than one year apart, one often notices some shedding of the hair from the first transplant, but this hair grows back completely. For most patients, effluvium is not a major issue and should not be a cause for concern. In general, the more miniaturization one has and the more rapid the hair loss, the more likely shedding will be from the hair restoration surgery. Young, actively balding patients would be at the greatest risk. Older patients with stable hair loss would have the least risk. In either situation, since miniaturized hair is eventually going to be lost, the effluvium has no long-term effect on the outcome of the procedure. It is important to differentiate the phenomena described above from shedding of the hair in the graft. This shedding is an almost universal characteristic of a hair transplant and occurs because during a hair transplant a graft is temporarily stripped of its blood supply. As a response to this insult, the graft sheds its hair. This shedding is generally noted beginning a week following the procedure and can continue for up to six weeks. A very small percentage of patients do not shed and the transplanted hair continues to grow. In others, the transplanted hair remains on the scalp for months until a new hair pushes it out. Whether a patient sheds or not has no bearing on the outcome of the hair restoration. There are a number of ways to minimize the effects of post-operative shedding: the first is using medication, the second is timing the transplant properly, and the third is performing a procedure using a sufficient number of grafts. • Timing and the size of the transplant It is important to wait until a patient is ready to have a transplant, and then to perform one of sufficient size so that if there is some shedding, the procedure will more than compensate for it – and thus be worthwhile. A problem that patients often run into is that they present to their doctor with early hair loss but with a significant amount of miniaturization. The doctor performs a small procedure and it does not even compensate either for potential shedding or for progression of the hair loss. The result is that the patient is thinner (or more bald) than he was before the procedure. The better solution is to treat early hair loss with medication, but once you make a decision to begin surgery, have a procedure large enough to make a significant cosmetic improvement.
[/cmsmasters_toggle][cmsmasters_toggle shortcode_id=”f5xet4ptt” title=”What about my present existing hair? How do I prevent them from falling?”]
Your pre-existing hair is always vulnerable to fall because of the effects of DHT. We recommend you to start taking medication or treatments to prevent the falling of your pre-existing hair.

[/cmsmasters_toggle][cmsmasters_toggle shortcode_id=”ncunyo9pup” title=”What is the cost of the transplant?”]
Hair Transplant Cost varies from person to person depending on the grade of baldness one has please refer a picture in our gallery for reference and get an idea on which grade you are in.But we don’t encourage self treatment so we would always request you to come down to our clinic so we can educate you on hair transplant and diagnose the reason why you are loosing hair.
[/cmsmasters_toggle][cmsmasters_toggle shortcode_id=”tvuyo2ejnn” title=”I have spots on my head but everywhere else I have good amount of hair, what’s wrong with me?”]
Loss of Hair doesn’t always indicate that you are going bald sometimes there is a skin disease which is the cause for it which is known as Alopecia areata. Alopecia areata is an acquired skin disease that can affect all hair-bearing skin and is characterized by localized areas of non-scarring hair loss. Alopecia areata, as a rule, is rarely associated with any other external or internal medical problems. Most often these bald areas regrow their hair spontaneously. Alopecia areata is rare before the age of 3 years. There seems to be a significant tendency to inherit alopecia areata from ancestors.
[/cmsmasters_toggle][cmsmasters_toggle shortcode_id=”ix54xuecr” title=”What causes alopecia areata?”]
Current evidence suggests that alopecia areata is caused by an abnormality in the immune system. This particular abnormality leads to autoimmunity, a misguided immune system that tends to attack its own body. As a result, the immune system attacks particular tissues of the body. In alopecia areata, for unknown reasons, the body’s own immune system attacks the hair follicles and disrupts normal hair formation. Biopsies of affected skin show immune lymphocytes penetrating into the hair bulb of the hair follicles. Alopecia areata is occasionally associated with other autoimmune conditions such as thyroid disease, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and ulcerative colitis. The diagnosis or treatment of these diseases is unlikely to affect the course of alopecia areata. Sometimes, alopecia areata occurs within family members, suggesting a role of genes.
[/cmsmasters_toggle][cmsmasters_toggle shortcode_id=”5uhhp1hfx” title=”What are the different patterns of alopecia areata?”]
The most common pattern is one or more well-defined spots of hair loss on the scalp. There is also a form of more generalized loss of hair referred to as diffuse alopecia areata throughout the scalp. Occasionally, all of the scalp hair is lost, a condition referred to as alopecia totalis. Less frequently, the loss of all of the hairs on the entire body, called alopecia universalis, occurs.
[/cmsmasters_toggle][cmsmasters_toggle shortcode_id=”7unu9klmcx” title=” What is the treatment for alopecia areata?”]
The course of typical alopecia areata is not predictable with a high likelihood of spontaneous remission. The longer the period of time of hair loss and the larger the area involved, the less likely the hair will regrow. Therefore, we at Hair Science advice you to first come down to our clinic for a free consultation to find out whether you are balding or a victim of Alopecia areata.
[/cmsmasters_toggle][cmsmasters_toggle shortcode_id=”rj98jzdw8e” title=”Can you do a hair transplant using someone else’s hair?”]
Unfortunately, this is not possible because your body would reject the hair transplant without the use of immunosuppressive drugs. The problem with immune suppressants is that they will lower your natural immune response, increasing your susceptible to infections and even cancer, and you’ll have to take them for the rest of your life. A transplant using someone else’s hair is also not desirable for aesthetic reasons. There’s the style of the hair, its texture, thickness, colour, etc. Trying to find the perfect donor whose hair would complement & flatter your particular features and blend in with your remaining hair would be a significant, if not impossible, challenge. It would be possible, however, to transplant the hair from one identical twin to another, but most likely if one went bald, so would the other.
[/cmsmasters_toggle][cmsmasters_toggle shortcode_id=”6eyh2ke9ip” title=”I made a mistake and pulled out some of my hair follicles after hair transplant buy rubbing the transplant areas are those hair lost or have they already taken root ?”]
I am sorry but you have not specified the time frame after which you have pulled out your hair hence we will answer the question in a general term. It should usually not make a difference if you done this after 15 days of the procedure, but I would still just let the hair fall out naturally when you apply a gentle samphoo . If there are any crusts (scabs) on the hair they are cosmetically bothersome, they can be gently scrubbed off in the shower at 10 days when very tiny recipient sites are used and you should wait slightly longer if larger sites were used. Since I don’t know the technique or site size used in your procedure, I would wait a full two weeks to be certain the grafts are permanent.
I heard body hair transplants is not preferred by your firm unless there is not another option? We have tried the technique in the past but have been dissatisfied with the results. Scalp hair, unlike the rest of the body, has multiple hairs rising out of each follicle. With leg and body hair, you have only one hair per follicle, not follicular units of multiple hairs. Leg hair is also very fine. It might thicken up a little bit after it is transplanted, but not enough to be clinically useful. In men you want full thickness hair, so fine hair can make it look like it is miniaturizing, as it does when you’re losing it but have seen a difference by using Robotic Hair Transplant we have seen the hair has a better health and longer life but the best alternative for Body Hair Transplant is Bio Medical Hair Fibre by Hair Science.

We are very sad to hear to see you had to go through this horrible experience. We can’t actually comment on the gap unless we have more details but to answer that question in a general manner. It takes about a year to see the full results of a hair transplant, so it is generally best to wait at least this time before considering a second -– since you may not need one or if you feel that you require more density and better results you may contact us to schedule and appointment on 9222012105/06/14
[/cmsmasters_toggle][cmsmasters_toggle shortcode_id=”p53aixd262″ title=”Does Hair Transplant affect other remaining hair?”]
No, When we perform hair transplant surgery, we transplant into an area that is either bald or has some existing hair. The hair that is existing is undergoing a process called miniaturization. What this means is that the hairs are continuing to decrease in size – both in diameter and in length. When we perform a hair transplant, we don’t transplant around the existing miniaturized hair on your scalp, we transplant through it. And the reason why we do that is because the miniaturized hair, the fine hair that is being affected by DHT, is eventually going to disappear, so you don’t want there to be any gaps.
[/cmsmasters_toggle][cmsmasters_toggle shortcode_id=”22g14ipt95″ title=”I heard it’s pretty obvious to see signs that a person has opted for Hair Transplant?”]
I am sorry but your question isn’t clear are you talking about signs immediately after Hair Transplant or the look? To answer both questions first talking about the hair transplant according to the look. Hair Transplant will look completely natural depending on the standard of Surgeon and his expertise and the technique he is using. Usually all techniques will provide a natural look but there are difference in each technique but it largely depends on the expertise of the surgeon and the expertise of the team and post follow up of the procedure. We at Hair Science believe that once a patient has enrolled for a procedure with us it is our duty make a schedule pre and post of procedure as follow up after procedure is very important too. Talking about immediate visible signs after hair transplant are here are a number of factors that can make a hair transplant obvious in the post-op period. These include the redness that you are asking about, but also crusting and swelling. Redness after hair restoration surgery is easily camouflaged with ordinary make-up. At one week post-op, the grafts are pretty secure, so that make-up can be applied and then gently washed off at the end of the day. Since the recipient wounds are well healed by one week, using make-up does not increase the risk of infection. At 10 days after the hair transplant, the grafts are permanent and can not be dislodged, therefore, at this time the makeup can be removed without any special precautions. Usually, residual crusting (scabbing) presents more of a cosmetic problem than redness, but can be minimized with meticulous post-op care. Crusts form when the blood or serum that oozes from recipient sites after the procedure dries on the scalp. Although it is relatively easy to prevent scabs from forming with frequent washing of the scalp after the surgery, once the scabs harden they are difficult to remove without dislodging the grafts. But if you consider going for Robotic Hair transplant the downtime and recovery period significantly improves and is hardly noticeable after a week of the Procedure but you can go to office from the next day.

The hair transplant procedure has been successfully carried out over the last 35 years. It is a recognized medical procedure in the medical profession. The only variable factor is the resulting quality. The first techniques used (still used by some surgeons), gave the baby doll look, with hair growing in small clumps. Hair Science assures that each hair graft will grow as long as the patient follows the pre and post -operative instructions.
[/cmsmasters_toggle][cmsmasters_toggle shortcode_id=”g5log5iwdk” title=”Can I afford hair transplant surgery?”]
A hair transplant is more affordable now than ever before. After a detailed evaluation of your hair loss and a discussion of your expectations, we will be able to offer you a realistic estimate of the time and costs necessary to achieve your desired objective or goal. The surgery costs, in the case of many hair transplant surgeons, can often be very confusing. Some surgeons charge per graft, others per hair and still others for the complete surgery. You should always carefully consider whether the amount of balding area you would like covered, as well as the hair density desired can be met by your personal budget. Our patients at the Hair Science assure us that the results leave nothing to be desired, and that the money paid is the best investment they have ever made. A hair transplant is only successful if the patient is satisfied. Although the cost should be carefully considered, it shouldn’t be the only factor taken into account. In contrast to other hair loss treatments, the cost of each surgical procedure is one single expense. We adopt a procedure and price that is in accordance with the circumstances and budget of each person. Hair Science can advise you of the best financial plan to suit your personal needs.
[/cmsmasters_toggle][cmsmasters_toggle shortcode_id=”djr30bpfk” title=”How do I know if I would be a good candidate for a hair transplant?”]
We will analyse your individual hair loss and will explain to you what your personal options would be. To be a good candidate for a hair transplant, the determining factors include the amount of grafts necessary to produce the results that you desire, availability and density of hair follicles in the donor area, hair color, skin color, hair texture and a predicted future loss of hair. Virtually anybody (men and women) with a degree of hair loss could be a patient.

Hair loss is a problem that continues throughout life. Hair Science suggests that you deal with the problem early, before it becomes more obvious. An early start allows the surgeon to hide or camouflage the work while the transplanted hair gradually grows, unobserved. There is no age limit. Our patients range from 20 years to 80 years and older. You don’t have to delay your surgery waiting for your hair to fall out. There is no magical age when you will stop losing your hair.Hair Science considers your future hair loss, and plans her surgery accordingly, so that you can enjoy a natural appearance throughout your whole life. If you have been waiting for the hair transplant techniques to be perfected, the time is now here! Once you see the amazing results achieved, you will wish you did it ages ago. You can start counting your new hairs instead of the ones you are losing!
[/cmsmasters_toggle][cmsmasters_toggle shortcode_id=”chj72hzyj” title=”Won′t it leave a gap by taking hair and tissue from the donor area at the back or side of my head?”]
I think you are referring the to FUT.The scalp is very elastic. When the strip of donor hair is cut out, the scalp is simply pulled together and the edges of the wound are stitched. The only evidence of surgery will be a thin hidden line underneath the hair that grows vertically at the back of the head.
[/cmsmasters_toggle][cmsmasters_toggle shortcode_id=”vddqxo9vsw” title=”I have a significant amount of hair loss. Can a hair transplant make me look exactly the way I did before I lost my hair?”]
All surgical hair restoration procedures move hair – they cannot create new hair (except if you are going for Bio Medical Specifically),hair transplantation takes existing hair from the donor area (located in the back and on the sides of the scalp) and moves (transplants) them to the part of the scalp that has lost hair. It is not usually the case that there is not enough hair in one’s donor area to replace all lost hair but when that happens and when the patient is not satisfied with such low amount of Grafts being extracted from Safe donor area then we recommend for other options like Bio Medical Hair Fibre (artificial hair) or Body hair Transplant. That said, in persons with extensive hair loss, the restoration can often produce a dramatic improvement in one’s appearance.
[/cmsmasters_toggle][cmsmasters_toggle shortcode_id=”3el2cf0ck” title=”My hair is thinning, but I’ve been told I have too much existing hair to warrant a hair transplant. I heard that transplanting new hair into my thinned areas will lead to a loss of existing hair follicles. I was told to delay a hair transplant procedure until my density has further decreased. Is this true?”]
It is possible that you simply don’t need a hair transplant at this time one. If you have early thinning, it may be best treated with medication, or not at all. As you age, we will have a better idea of your thinning pattern and, at that time, a hair transplant may be more appropriate.Hair transplant does not cause loss of hair follicles in the recipient area. The procedure may cause a temporary “shock” loss of the hair. Shock hair loss is a physiologic response to the trauma to the scalp which is caused by a hair transplant. Hair that is healthy is going to come back after some period of time – generally 6 months. Hair that may be near the end of its lifespan may not return. When a hair transplant is performed at the proper time, in the proper candidate, shock hair loss should just be an incidental issue.
[/cmsmasters_toggle][cmsmasters_toggle shortcode_id=”tanxded6dl” title=”I’ve heard that healing after a hair transplant requires stitches in Fut. How long will they stay in?”]
In a follicular unit hair transplant, the surgeon removes a thin strip of scalp from the patient’s donor area that supplies the follicular unit grafts for the hair transplant. After the strip is removed we use either sutures (stitches) or staples to close the wound. We now close most wounds in the donor area with staples, rather than sutures, because we have found that staples cause less injury to the remaining hair follicles compared to sutures; therefore, more hair will be available for future hair restoration sessions if required.
[/cmsmasters_toggle][cmsmasters_toggle shortcode_id=”ib1ejf2li” title=” At one time, I was told my donor area was not sufficient for an FUT hair transplant procedure. Does this also mean I’m not qualified for a FUE procedure either?”]
If your donor hair supply was not good enough to do FUT (i.e. you have too little donor hair and too much bald area to cover) then most likely you will not be a candidate for FUE either, since both procedures require, and use up, donor hair. That said, if don’t need that much donor hair, but the nature of your donor area is such that a linear FUT scar might be visible then FUE might be useful. There is another reason to deny you as a good candidate for a FUT Surgery that you might not have a flexible enough skin to extract a strip of skin for hair transplant for FUT method but in this case you will be eligible for FUE or Suction robotic Hair Transplant which directly extracts the follicle from the donor area without taking out the strip of skin.
